I started my term as Post-Secondary Vice President on July 1, 2017. In this role, I represent school counselor educators and graduate students throughout South Carolina. Please reach out via email and share your comments and feedback so I can convey your opinions and concerns to the PSSCA Board.
I am a Professor and Coordinator of the School Counseling Program at Clemson University. I am a K-12 certified school counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, and LPC-Supervisor. Originally from Pennsylvania, I worked as a middle and high school counselor prior to getting my doctoral degree at Penn State University. I then worked as a counselor educator at the University of Iowa and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before coming to Clemson in 2008. As a faculty member, I publish and present research related to college readiness and postsecondary transitions, students with disabilities, professionalism in counselor education, and school counselor preparation. I teach students in Clemson's school counseling and clinical mental health counseling programs. I also regularly provide supervision to new graduates seeking their LPC.
