66th ANNUAL A.I. MOSE COUNSELING CONFERENCE

  • October 05, 2018
  • 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM

The Counselor Education Program of the Department of Human Services is happy to sponsor the 66th Annual Counseling Conference. The conference is a continuing effort to provide professional development to all members of the helping professions.

THEME:

“Career Development: What Does It Really Mean”

At some point in time, everyone is faced with the question, "What do you what to be when you grow up?" The response to that question may come easily to some as they have already identified a career based on their interests and abilities and have put a plan in motion, while others spend a lifetime uncertain of their true potential and purpose. As one of the roles of school counselors is to assist all students with career development, the responsibility is sometimes challenging when working with the latter type of student. Unfortunately, as a result, many students graduate from high school without a clear path for their next steps. Thus, this conference is designed to aid school counselors as well as other helping professionals who work with children in obtaining creative and effective methods of providing beneficial career awareness and development for all students.
