Hi, my name is Anya Stewart and I am happy to accept my appointment as the Awards Committee Chair for PSSCA. This will be my first year serving on the PSSCA Board. I am very excited to get a better idea of all the inner workings of this organization and how the Board advocates and supports all of the School Counselors across the state!
I have been a School Counselor for eleven years, and currently work at North Augusta High School in Aiken County. Previously, I have worked in two other districts across the state. I hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Wofford College and a Master’s in School Counseling from Clemson University. I am happily married with two beautiful, high-spirited children!
The awards committee is responsible for implementing the process of selecting each year’s awards for the School Counselor of the Year and Advocate of the Year. Members of the committee will review applications and provide feedback in the selection process virtually. We are also responsible for ordering and providing the award plaques for each recipient. Your input is greatly valued so if you are interested in working on this committee, please do not hesitate to contact me!
