Awards

The Awards Committee is responsible for implementing the process of selecting each year’s awards for the School Counselor of the Year and Advocate of the Year.  Members of the committee will review applications and provide feedback in the selection process virtually.  We are also responsible for ordering and providing the award plaques for each recipient. Your input is greatly valued and I would love to have you on my committee.

More About Sally Tice

Sally Tice is entering her 30th year as an educator in SC. She taught Social Studies for 20 years and has been a school counselor for 10 years. Most of her time was spent with Aiken County Schools at Aiken High School and Midland Valley High School, but she will be a counselor at Horse Creek Academy for the upcoming year. She has a 23 year old daughter, Rachel,  who is pursuing her MBA and 15 year old daughter, Maggie, who is a sophomore in high school. Additionally her husband is a science teacher and coach. Sally enjoys attending any kind of sporting event, all things Clemson and her three dogs. She is looking forward to her new role with PSSCA.

More about Brooke Gilmer

Brooke Gilmer has been a school counselor for thirteeen years, twelve of which have been at Midland Valley High School in Aiken County. Brooke has a husband who is an English teacher, an eleven-year-old daughter, Penelope, two dogs and a guinea pig named Oreo. She has a passion for helping animals and is also her school’s Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) faculty sponsor. She loves to read, watch the Atlanta Braves and take naps when she can!
