Awards
The Awards Committee is responsible for implementing the process of selecting each year’s awards for the School Counselor of the Year and Advocate of the Year. Members of the committee will review applications and provide feedback in the selection process virtually. We are also responsible for ordering and providing the award plaques for each recipient. Your input is greatly valued and I would love to have you on my committee.

More About Jessica Thomas Hello! I am a dedicated high school counselor at Midland Valley High School in Graniteville, SC. I have a strong background in education and leadership. I have been working for Aiken County public school District since 2015, and I became a school counselor in 2018. I am dedicated to serving students and their families. O received my Bachelor of Arts at Newberry College in 2014, Masters of School Counseling at Liberty University in 2020. I have two amazing daughters, a grandson, and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am an active member of ASCA and PSSCA. | Brooke Gilmer
More about Brooke Gilmer
Brooke Gilmer has been a school counselor for thirteen years, twelve of which have been at Midland Valley High School in Aiken County. Brooke has a husband who is an English teacher, an eleven-year-old daughter, Penelope, two dogs and a guinea pig named Oreo. She has a passion for helping animals and is also her school’s Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) faculty sponsor. She loves to read, watch the Atlanta Braves and take naps when she can! |
