Greetings School Counselors! 

Thank you for visiting our PSSCA website! I am honored to serve as your PSSCA Midlands Regional Chair (Fairfield, Newberry, Saluda, Edgefield, Aiken, Lexington, Richland, Calhoun, Orangeburg, Bamberg, Barnwell, & McCormick Counties).

My dedication to the field of School Counseling and Counselor Education is both proven and strong. I received the National Boards for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in the area of School Counseling/Early Childhood through Young Adulthood, November 2011. While serving as Director of School Counseling at Stratford High school, the school counseling program received the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) distinction in 2010, and while serving as Director of School Counseling at Richland Northeast High School, the school counseling program received the RAMP distinction in 2018. I currently serve as School Counseling Director at Dutch Fork High School.

I am an Adjunct Professor in the Counselor Education Program at South Carolina State University, where I have served since 2005. I have educated and supervised many intern and practicum students in their endeavor to become professional school counselors who go forth to contribute successfully to the school counseling profession. 

This is my second time serving on the PSSCA Board. I serve because I believe in the power of a school counseling program to impact the academic, personal/emotional and career paths of all students. I believe in preparing those who have a calling to serve as school counselors, and I believe in the ASCA Model as “the framework” to guide the profession in developing programs that create lasting, systemic changes for the good of all students, our communities and our world. 

My goal in serving as the Midlands Regional Chair is to serve as an advocate, and to ensure information is disseminated to counselors in the region. I look forward to serving you and welcome you to reach out to me if I can be of any assistance.
