My name is Allie Ablewood and I am so excited to be part of the inaugural group of PSSCA Emerging Leaders! I currently live in Greenville, SC where I am getting ready to start my first year as a School Counselor at Berea Middle School!
I graduated this past May with my Masters of Education and Education Specialist from Clemson University. Prior to this, I was working in Higher Education Development at my alma mater, Furman University. In 2018 I graduated from Furman with a degree in Political Science and Communication Studies.
Originally from Saluda, South Carolina, and grew up attending Title 1 schools. Through my undergraduate studies in Political Science and Communications at Furman University, I developed a passion for education policy and advocacy. As a school counselor, I am excited to provide equitable opportunities for the schools I serve, as well as to advocate at a state and federal level for policies that affect this field. I am excited to honor my roots by serving in a high needs/Title 1 community.
Outside of work I attend OrangeTheory Fitness, am a huge lover of all things musical theater, and participate in my church choir. On the weekends I can be found hanging out with my husband and our two dogs!
